In a Spanish dictionary, what comes first?

Does sonar come before or after sonar with the squiggle over the n (I can't remember what it's called)? |||Sonar would come before So帽ar. The squiggle is called a tilde and it makes the letter e帽e (enye).|||"sonar" comes before "so帽ar".

N before 脩|||...M, N, N (with the "squibble, you called it), O, P, Q,.....

So "sonar" (with the 'squibble') should be AFTER the word SONAR (make noise, with N, without the 'squibble').
