Are there any websites for spanish english dictionary text.
Just a big list of words with the translated word in spanish or english with it.
Just text documents NOT translators.|||English has the Oxford 3000 which are considered the most essential words to learn in English. I don't think there is a direct equivalent in Spanish.
---------------
These are the most common verbs in English (about 40%-50% of the time when English speak a verb they say one of these verb.)
---------------
be have do say get make go know take see come think look
want give use find tell ask work
---------------
Only one of these verbs is based on Latin and that is "use" so it is almost identical to in Spanish. "To use" is "usar" in Spanish.
---------------
Because they are very common in English verbs they are often difficult to translate into Spanish. For instance "get" has multiple uses in English. It's an old Viking verb which must be translated into a dozen different verbs in Spanish (or any romance language).
=========
Of course by far the most common verb in English is the verb "to be", which in it's seven different forms is "I am", "you are", "he is", "I was", "I have been", and "to be or not to be". This verb does not exist in latin. Instead they use three different verbs that are related to the English verbs "essence", "state" and "having the feeling".
I am fat.
I am happy.
I am cold.
- To any latin language speaker (like spanish) these three simple sentences expresses three different concepts.
